IAMSLIC/Euraslic conference

Hello All:  Did you miss the deadline?  Here’s your chance to submit!

This is an extension of the deadline for paper/panel presentation proposals for
the joint 2009 IAMSLIC/EURASLIC conference in Brugge, Belgium.   The poster
proposal deadline has been slightly extended as well.

Third Call for submission of proposals for papers, poster sessions, panel
session presentations for:

The joint 35th Annual IAMSLIC Conference & 13th Biennial EURASLIC Conference to
be held 27th of September through the 1st of October in Brugge, Belgium.
The Conference website is at:

The theme for this year’s conference is “Confluence of Ideas: Evolving to Meet
the Challenges of Global Change”.  In these economically trying times, global
change has taken on an expanded meaning beyond climate change. The theme also
touches on the theory of evolution since 2009 is the 150th anniversary of “On
the Origin of Species” and the bicentennial of the birth of Charles Darwin.
Local & host scientists will be invited to speak on North Sea biodiversity and
other topics.  During this conference, we will also emphasize green practices.

Conference sessions are expected to include panel discussions of current
topics, research presentations, poster sessions and hands-on workshops.

Potential submissions might focus on:

* providing and accessing open access literature through institutional
repositories and other means
* the evolution of information  — what’s on the horizon?
* going green at your library
* sustaining libraries during crisis economics
* adaptations which libraries have made to survive
— Innovative and customized services such as data publishing, data
curation
— Involvement in cyberinfrastructure
— Collaborations
— Marketing the library
Or suggest your own topic for a session!

PLEASE NOTE:  Conference registration is required in order to present at the
conference.   Please note that IAMSLIC regional groups may be able to assist
with travel grants and some travel money may be available via the Guin fund.

1) Workshop proposals
DUE  Monday, 6 April, 2009
DEADLINE PAST:  No more submissions accepted

2) Paper or Panel discussion proposals
EXTENDED:  NOW DUE  Friday, 22 May, 2009
>> Oral presentations are typically 20 minutes in length

Your paper or panel discussion proposal should include:
title, abstract, co-author(s)/presenter(s) [if applicable], applicant
e-mail address

The conference committee will notify paper/panel applicants between 25 May —
5 June, 2009. NOTE: Successful applicants must consult guidelines for
submission of final product to the conference proceedings editor. Instructions

3) Poster session proposals
EXTENDED: NOW DUE  Friday, 5 June, 2009

Your poster proposal should include:
