The 37th IAMSLIC Conference and the 5th AFRIAMSLIC Conference October 16th-21st, 2011 Zanzibar, Tanzania
The 37th IAMSLIC Conference and the 5th AFRIAMSLIC Conference were held in Zanzibar, Tanzania, on the 16th to 21st of October, 2011. We may be separated by geographic distances, many cultures and beliefs, but we brought together at this conference to share our knowledge and experiences.
We have chosen the theme of “Information Safari: Discovering and Sharing Resources”, and our speakers and presenters will dazzle you with presentations ranging from collecting and taming gray literature, marketing marine information, populating and utilizing the Aquatic Commons, to using new technologies to collect, share, and give access to an incredible array of resources.
The 5 days of meetings, workshops, presentations, and networking time, startedin an impressive welcome reception and end in a memorable banquet. There were also an exciting tours and time to explore the wonderful island of Zanzibar and beautiful parks in Tanzania such as the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Mikumi just to mention a few.
It was a historic one, the first IAMSLIC meeting in Africa and our hosts made sure that it is your most memorable meeting.
