How to get there

Visa Information

A four-month entry visa is granted on arrival to nationals of 108 countries. Nationals of other countries require pre-arranged visas that can be applied for at the nearest Fiji High Commission http://www.fiji.gov.fj/publish/fiji_missions.shtml.

Check www.fiji.org.nz, www.immigration.gov.fj, or www.BulaFiji.com for a full exemption listing and visa application forms. Four-month entry visas are for holiday purposes only. Business purpose visas are issued for 14 days. Passports must be valid for a minimum of three months beyond the intended duration of stay.

Transportation options

Fiji has regular air service connections to Australia, New Zealand, the United States of America, Canada, Europe, Japan and South Korea. International Airports are located at Nadi and Nausori. Airlines serving the domestic routes include Air Fiji http://www.airfiji.com.fj/ and Sunflower Airlines http://www.pacificislandtravel.com/fiji/flights/sunflower.html. Air Fiji also has regional flights to Tuvalu and Kiribati.

Nadi International Airport (NAN)
Location: The airport is situated on the west coast of Viti Levu, six miles (10km) from Nadi Town.
Time: Local time is GMT +12.

Transfer to the city: Local buses provide a service to Nadi centre and on to Suva. Many hotels and guesthouses also provide pre-arranged transport for their guests. Taxis are available outside the terminal.
Car rental: International car rental companies, such as Avis, Budget and Hertz, are situated at the airport.
Facilities: Facilities include cafes and restaurants, mobile phone rental, various shops and duty-free outlets, luggage storage, tour operators and visitor information. Banking and currency exchange services are also available.
Parking: Short and long-term parking is available.

Distance to Suva from Nadi Airport — 200 km.

Land transport. If you choose to use land transport for travelling from Nadi to Suva and backwards there are several options:

  • Taxi. Time by taxi: 3.5 Hours. Taxi Charge (one way): F$120.00 We do not recommend you to take minivans. These vehicles are not regulated by the government and should be considered unsafe.

Nausori Airport (SUV) is the second International Airport in Fiji situated on the south-eastern side of Viti Levu (Fiji’s main island). Nausori Airport is about a thirty minute drive from the country’s capital, Suva, a distance of 23 km/14 miles. Airlines operate twice weekly to Auckland and Sydney and there are also weekly flights connecting to Nuku’alofa (Tonga) and Funafuti (Tuvalu).
Taxis and Hire Cars. Taxis are readily available outside the concourse areas. Hire Cars are also available including Avis and Budget Rent a Car. There is also a regular bus service to and from Suva and Nausori Town (a short taxi ride from the airport to Nausori town).
Facilities: Banking – The ANZ bank operates an agency outlet at Nausori Airport, which opens for most international flights; Duty Free – Limited Duty Free shopping is available: Car hire rental is available; Newspaper and Magazine stand, and pleasant cafe serving light meals, snacks, soft drinks and tea/coffee; Car Parking is available.
Taxi Charge to Suva around F$25.00 (one way); Time by Taxi: 20-30 minutes

Departure Tax – F$30 – under 12 years free. Quite often your airline ticket will have the tax already included. Check with your travel agent or airline. If not pre-paid in your ticket, ensure you have the Fiji dollars handy when you are ready to depart from Fiji Islands.

Flight Confirmation Please ensure that you have a confirmed flight booking for your return journey in order to avoid any inconvenience arising from an overbooking of flights. You are also advised to confirm your return flight at least 48 hours before departure.
