To our IAMSLIC Membership:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I have been tasked as Chair of the Nominating Committee for IAMSLIC, to come up with at least two nominees willing to run for the office of President of IAMSLIC.\u00c2\u00a0 This is really a four year commitment:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Duties of the IAMSLIC President:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Junior President-Elect (2009): Voting member of Executive Board and <\/span><\/span>
\nresponsible for coordinating Executive board web page updates with the <\/span><\/span>
\nweb committee.<\/span><\/span> \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0This meeting will be held in Belgium<\/p>\n

President-Elect (2010): Voting member of Executive Board and <\/span><\/span>
\nconference convener.<\/span><\/span> This meeting will occur in Latin America.<\/p>\n

President (2011): Runs Executive Board and business meetings, <\/span><\/span>
\nmanages IAMSLIC committee appointments and oversees IAMSLIC business. <\/span><\/span>
\nActs as grant administration for IAMSLIC grant cycles.<\/span><\/span> \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0This meeting will be held in Africa<\/p>\n

Past-President (2012): Serves on the Executive Board in a <\/span><\/span>
\nnon-voting advisory capacity and may chair the Bylaws Committee.<\/span><\/span> This meeting will likely be held in the U.S.A.<\/p>\n

The IAMSLIC bylaws allow for a conference registration waiver for the <\/span><\/span>
\nyear the candidate serves as President and a minimal amount of travel <\/span><\/span>
\nsupport for IAMSLIC elected officers, but candidates should also have <\/span><\/span>
\nthe support (programmatically and hopefully financially as well) of <\/span><\/span>
\ntheir institution when they commit to run and we do ask for written <\/span><\/span>
\nacceptance from candidates who have agreed to stand for office.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We would love to hear from you either to nominate yourself, or with the names of candidates you think would make a good President and be willing to serve.\u00c2\u00a0 Our Committee members are:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
