Officers

The Executive Board is comprised of the Regional Group Representative, Treasurer and Secretary, all of whom are elected by Cyamus members for two-year terms. Please see below for contact information and descriptions of these positions.

Duties of Officers

Cyamus Regional Group Representative

The Regional Group Representative manages the affairs of Cyamus and represents the regional group on the IAMSLIC Executive Board. S/he prepares an annual summary of the group’s activities for the annual IAMSLIC meeting. As a voting Officer of the IAMSLIC Executive Board, the Cyamus Representative participates in discussions and decision making on behalf of Cyamus, and seeks representation from Cyamus members for IAMSLIC committees. S/he organizes the program for the annual Cyamus meeting in conjunction with the site host and presides over the meeting. S/he coordinates the grant application process for IAMSLIC/Cyamus meetings. S/he assists the Secretary with the Cyamus website and the Treasurer as a second signatory on the Cyamus bank account.

Cyamus Treasurer

The Treasurer is in charge of Cyamus funds and manages the financial transactions associated with the annual meetings. S/he keeps the funds in a bank account approved by the Cyamus Board and uses established proper accounting procedures. S/he reports on the financial condition of the regional group at all meetings, and prepares an annual report at the end of each fiscal year. In addition to treasury duties, the Treasurer participates in activities of, and decision making by, the Cyamus Board.

Cyamus Secretary

The Secretary keeps a record of the Cyamus annual meeting and maintains the Cyamus website with assistance from the Regional Group Representative. S/he is responsible for written and electronic correspondence with support from the Regional Group Representative and Treasurer. Communications include but are not limited to: thank-yous to conference speakers/hosts/sponsors; solicitation of prospective sponsors for conference activities and member travel support; and updates to donors and awardees. In addition to secretarial duties, the Secretary participates in activities of, and decision making by, the Cyamus Board.
