Call for proposals

The theme for our 2011 conference is “Information Safari: Discovering and Sharing Resources“.  We would like to invite you to submit proposals for papers or posters on topics relating to this broad theme.

Please send your abstracts by April 27, 2011.

Some potential topics:

  • Exploring and locating unique information & resources, such as gray literature, technical reports, journal articles, data, etc. in support of institutional research or education
  • Innovations in resource sharing and creation of new information resources
  • Collaborative projects combining knowledge and resources across departments or institutions to create new paths for accessing information
  • Assisting researchers and educators in locating, organizing and making available information and resources, or in data gathering, curation, and preservation
  • Contributing to and using the Aquatic Commons
  • Making available local resources, dissertations, institutional publications, data, to other institutions, or individuals, locally, regionally, or internationally

The language of all IAMSLIC Conferences is English.  Therefore your abstracts, papers, and posters must be in English.

Submission Guidelines:

  • An English abstract is required for consideration by the committee.
  • Oral presentations are typically allotted 40 minutes, not including questions.
  • Submissions may be for papers, posters, workshops or panel sessions.
  • Conference registration is required in order to present an accepted paper or poster.
  • All submissions will be reviewed for relevance to the conference theme, potential interest of the topic for members, and appropriateness of format.
  • Abstracts must be received by April 27, 2011 to receive priority consideration with the committee’s responses following in approximately 30 days.
