Conference outings

Pre-Conference Kayak Trip, Sunday October 7th

Along with a professional guide from “Almost Heaven Kayak Adventures”, we will kayak through the South Lido Mangrove Tunnels. This is a popular local trip with an abundance of sea life. It goes over shallow, protected, bay waters with minimal influence from wind and currents. The path goes through a series of mangrove tunnels and lagoons that are abundant with a variety of crabs, sponges, starfish along the mangrove roots, and some of our tropical birds. At some point, we will travel just north to Otter Key, a large protected mangrove island, where it is possible to see manatee and dolphin. The tour is 2 .5- 3 hours long including some basic paddling instruction for those who need it. This is a great eco-tour for the beginner as well as advanced paddlers. You must register and pay for this outing separately, as it is not included in your conference registration.
