FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Branch Library closed from February 2014

Dear colleagues,

We regret to inform you that, as per high-level managerial decision, the FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Branch Library will be permanently closed from February 2014 with its staff and collections moved over to the FAO’s central library, the David Lubin Memorial Library (DLML). After settling down in DLML and along with new duties, we will continue providing specialized fisheries and aquaculture information services to our internal and external library users. Maria Kalentsits will act as “fisheries focal point” in the Main Library, while Armand Gribling will continue to look after the collection of documents published by and stored in the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department. We will also continue our involvement in IAMSLIC activities, including hosting the IAMSLIC Conference in 2015 in FAO.

Starting from February 2014, you are kindly asked to send you reference queries to FAO-Library-Reference e-mail account FAO-Library-Reference@fao.org  instead of FI-library account.  Please note that the FI-library account will be permanently closed after a transition period of a couple of months. For other issues, please contact Maria or Armand directly.

We apologize for any inconvenience or delay in addressing your requests during the transition period.

Finally, we would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all partners and users whom the Fisheries and Aquaculture Branch Library was privileged to work with over more than 45 years of the library’s existence at FAO.

Best regards,

Maria Kalentsits and Armand Gribling
